01

Governance and public services

Elected leaders set policy and exercise oversight, while the Town Clerk and technical departments manage day-to-day administration and service delivery. Working together supports inclusive governance, accountability and community participation.

02

Trade and commerce

Wakiso’s location around the capital and within the metropolitan area supports busy markets, retail, hospitality, construction and other services. In Katabi, orderly licensing and a supportive local business environment help turn this activity into jobs and local revenue.

03

Infrastructure and mobility

Roads, drainage, electricity, water, health facilities and schools are essential to continued growth. Rapid development also brings pressure from road maintenance needs, storm-water drainage, periodic flooding and traffic congestion.

04

Industry and the environment

Manufacturing and agro-processing create economic opportunity across the district, but growth must be managed responsibly. Waste management, reliable utilities and compliance with environmental standards remain important to healthy, sustainable communities.

05

Planning for population growth

Wakiso’s population has expanded rapidly over recent decades. For Katabi, that wider growth increases demand for planned settlements, local roads, sanitation, public health, community facilities and transparent land-use decisions.
